We have to subtract the total of the written checks from the total money in her balance; so first lets add the total of the checks:
$10 + $9 + $9 + $9 = $37.00
Now that we found the total money of checks we must now subtract it from the balance:
$35 - $37 = -$2.00
So her ending balance is -$2.00
