Getting the word out to people and getting them to believe another problem was everything was by spoken word because books were very very expensive so normal people didn't get to learn about Christianity
Indifference to what they were saying. People who didn't like Christianity considered it a cult.There were already established religions that conflicted with what early Christians stood for. The apostle Paul talking to the Galatians had his words distorted. He said words to the effect that he marveled how quickly they fell away from what he said.
