You are breeding geckos and hoping to get a large percentage of female geckos. Your incubator has not been properly calibrated, so when you set the temperature to 78 °F it is actually 83 °F inside the incubator. Will this error cause you to have fewer female geckos than you would expect?
The gender of leopard geckos can vary depending on the temperature they were incubated in. For example: Incubating at 80 to 85 degrees will produce females. Incubating at 90 to 95 will produce males. Incubating anywhere in the middle will produce a mix of genders in your gecko population.Â
