During the 1500's, the people voiced out their ideas about the abuse of power in the Catholic Church. Certain individuals wanted the Church to change or ultimately, create a church that did not allow the abuse of power. Many of these people were sought out by the church during the Inquisition. Ultimately, the Reformation led to the establishment of Protestantism and the shift in power in the Catholic Church.
