If a piece of pure iron is placed in pure nitrogen, nothing happens. If the iron is exposed to air, it begins to rust. What conclusion can you make about air, based on this observation?

Respuesta :

the copper oxidized, the iron was exposed to moisture in air

Answer:

If the iron rod is placed in the nitrogen then nothing happens. But when the rod of iron is placed in air.

It is also known as iron oxide which takes place when the iron is exposed to moisture and oxygen for a longer period of time.

Oxygen gets attached to iron at an atomic level, forming a compound which is known as an oxide which weakens the metal bond.

Here, this process weakens the iron and corrodes it and makes it unuseful.
