Slope intercept form: y = mx + b
We know the slope, so we need to use the given point in the generic slope intercept form and solve for b.
y = -3x + b
-2 = -3(5) + b
-2 = -15 + b
b = 13
y = -3x + 13

Start with the point slope formula shown at the top.
Then plug your x and y values into the formula as well as your slope which is the m.
Remember that minus a negative means the same thing as plus a positive. Watch out here!
Then distribute through the parentheses.
Make sure to isolate y to get it into y = mx + b form.
If you want it in standard form, add 3x to both sides.
That leaves you with 3x + y = 13.
